Writing 28th Town Hall Tour Update

For the past couple months American Promise has been on the road, taking our Writing the 28th Amendment project to communities all over the country, asking people what the next amendment to our Constitution needs to do. Hundreds of Americans showed up to learn from our expert panelists and each other, provide testimony and polling, and have their voices heard.

After nine months of debate and deliberation with top legal minds, elected officials, grassroots organizers, and citizen leaders from all across the country, American Promise has teamed up with the American Constitution Society* and other co-sponsors for a national tour with stops in every region of the country. We will solicit feedback, input, and insight from every American through our interactive town hall-style events and online forums and polls.

If you weren’t able to make one of these events, don’t worry – there are still plenty of opportunities to take part in this exciting project!

Writing the 28th Amendment is not just about campaign finance or money in politics. It’s about our rights as equal citizens in an effective republic.

* American Promise President Jeff Clements will be speaking at the American Constitution Society National Convention in Washington, D.C. June 7-9.
