We have many tools to use to get the attention of our elected officials on every level. Our March 10th meeting will be focusing on local resolutions. City councils and county boards are the first level in our democratic process. The members are often easier to meet with. Passing a local resolution in support of an amendment can spur congressional action, as well as prepare state legislatures to ratify once the amendment is proposed. In addition, passing a local resolution can help educate your community and recruit volunteers to the movement.
