I join the overwhelming majority of Americans to demand an amendment to the United States Constitution to end the domination of big money in politics and give voice to all Americans.

I will stand with all Americans, without regard to party or other differences, and urge all candidates and elected officials to do the same, in order to pass and ratify such a constitutional amendment as soon as possible.

American Promise CEO Statement on Utah S.J.R 7 House Committee Passage

American Promise CEO Statement on Utah S.J.R 7 House Committee Passage

March 3, 2025
Published By American Promise

Jeff Clements, CEO of American Promise, issued the following statement in response to the passage of S.J.R. 7 out of the Utah House Government Operations Committee:

“The Utah House Government Operations Committee voted today to advance S.J.R. 7, putting Utah one step closer to becoming the 23rd state to call on Congress to give states the power to control their own elections. The resolution before the Utah House puts voters ahead of out-of-state billionaires, special interests, and foreign actors who want to marginalize the will of voters to achieve their own narrow political agendas.

“The resolution affirms that voters should be the ultimate decisionmakers at the ballot box. That is why the Senate and 80% of Utahns support it. If passed by both chambers, this resolution sends a strong message to Congress that voters demand and deserve control over their elections, and that no state should be deprived of its ability to protect its sovereignty and values from outside interference. We commend the House Government Operations Committee and the bill sponsor and floor sponsor, Senate Majority Leader Kirk Cullimore and House Majority Leader Jefferson Moss, for their leadership and for standing with their voters on this issue. The House will consider the resolution later this week.”
