Kayla Vix is a communications strategist at American Promise. In this role, she provides strategic guidance and support across the organization, including to teams advancing state-level work and building partnerships and coalitions. Prior to joining the organization in 2026, Vix served as field communications director and director of civic education and training at the League of Women Voters of the United States, where she developed civic education and engagement strategy. Vix began her professional career in public policy as communications manager at the Wichita State University Public Policy and Management Center, where she served city and county governments and local nonprofits.

Vix is based in Wichita, Kansas, and holds a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tabor College.
