I join the overwhelming majority of Americans to demand an amendment to the United States Constitution to end the domination of big money in politics and give voice to all Americans.

I will stand with all Americans, without regard to party or other differences, and urge all candidates and elected officials to do the same, in order to pass and ratify such a constitutional amendment as soon as possible.

American Promise submission to Maine Ethics Commission — June 2025

American Promise submission to Maine Ethics Commission — June 2025

June 20, 2025
Published By American Promise

Through the overwhelming victory (86% support) of Ballot Question 2 in Maine in 2023, the Maine Ethics Commission was charged with issuing an annual report “identifying anti-corruption amendment proposals introduced in Congress, and the members of Maine’s Congressional Delegation sponsoring such proposals.”

To support the Commission in carrying out its charge, today American Promise submitted its 2025 comments. Our comments have two objectives: (1) to update the Commission on the progress of nationwide efforts to urge Congress to propose an anti-corruption amendment to the U.S. Constitution, similar to Maine’s Ballot Question 2 , and (2) to identify whether members of Maine’s Congressional Delegation are presently sponsoring such proposals in the 119th Congress. You can read our full submission here.
