This page describes rules and guidelines for members of the American Promise digital community located at https://band.us/band/88317023 or any national or local team, community, digital or in-person, using the American Promise name.
Violations of these guidelines may result in the removal of material, comments, or other member content, or termination from the community and the use of the American Promise name.
When using BAND, do not post or otherwise transmit sensitive, private, or confidential information. Examples of such information include: home addresses, birthdates, social security numbers, financial account information, passwords, and non-public information from meetings with lawmakers or their staff. When in doubt, do not post.
The American Promise Community encourages open and candid discussion – we are here to learn from one another! However, all communications should be respectful. Differences of opinion are okay; personal attacks are not. Comments or content that are violent, threatening, abusive, sexually explicit, obscene, offensive, hateful, derogatory, defamatory, or are racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable content will be removed.
We have a very important, timely, and urgent mission to complete. Our posts and discussion should be in the name of moving our mission forward. We do not get distracted with side issues, partisan issues, or any other issues that are not directly connected to passing the For Our Freedom Amendment.
This is not a place for complaining – positive energy is critical for success and avoiding burnout. We assume good intentions from others and frame our messages accordingly. We welcome everyone to join us on this historic journey with open arms.
We are fiercely Cross-Partisan and do not judge others by their political ideology. We don’t post negative comments about political views or candidates that we disagree with. We are here to find common ground on fixing our broken government.
We ask that all use of the American Promise logo, as well as requests to sponsor or cosponsor events, be approved in advance by American Promise. Events likely to be approved for sponsorship include those that build our cross-partisan coalition and promote the For Our Freedom Amendment or similar state resolutions focused on advancing an aligned variation of the For Our Freedom Amendment. With regard to social media, we encourage all volunteers to share content from our official American Promise pages. However, we ask that volunteers refrain from using the American Promise logo on personal pages. This will help us to remain consistent and cross-partisan in our messaging – a vital component to winning the For Our Freedom Amendment.
Creating multiple accounts in the Community is discouraged. If you change schools, institutions, or place of work, please update your existing account instead of creating a new account. To merge your duplicate accounts, please email volunteer@americanpromise.net with any email addresses you may have used to create your accounts.
Our Community team does monitor posts, but we may miss something. We encourage members to flag content which they feel violates any of the above Community Rules so we can review and take the appropriate action. Email any concerns to volunteer@americanpromise.net
