Position Overview
The National Field Organizer recruits, trains, engages, and mobilizes a broad, cross-partisan volunteer base to support the For Our Freedom Amendment in a multi-year effort. The National Field Organizer must have excellent communication and project management skills, at least two years of organizing experience, and a passionate commitment to the mission, values, and objectives of American Promise.
Key Position Responsibilities:
● Call and text American Promise volunteers and supporters to get them active in our organizing process.
● Train, onboard, and mobilize volunteers for LTEs, phone/text-banking, state support, legislative advocacy, and other volunteer actions.
● Plan and execute volunteer actions across key geographic areas.
● Assist with the planning and execution of national volunteer training sessions.
● Develop a well-trained volunteer base with a solid working knowledge of the For Our Freedom Amendment and our volunteer organizing strategy.
● Move volunteers through a ladder of engagement and develop volunteer leaders.
● Collaborate with the Director of State Campaigns and Director of Partnerships & Coalitions to implement campaign goals across various states.
● Achieve metric goals and report progress on a consistent basis.
● Assist with organization-wide events requiring volunteer recruitment & mobilization (e.g., conferences, lobby days, national update calls, candidate pledge work).
● Use Salesforce to track your outreach, actions, and other activity in a timely manner.
Key Qualifications & Attributes:
● A passionate commitment to the American Promise mission, goal, and values.
● An ability to effectively recruit volunteers through phone and text banking
● Prior organizing experience and/or strong experience as a trainer/educator.
● Proficiency with advocacy tools and technology (e.g., digital petitions, phone banking tools, voter databases, Salesforce experience a plus).
● Ability to track, enter, and report data in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner.
● Great organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
● Excellent political acumen and judgment.
● Track record of working successfully with people from differing political parties/ideologies.
● Collaborative leadership style and commitment to teamwork.
● Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
● Ability to multitask, creatively solve problems, and think on your feet.
● Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
● Integrity, excellent judgment, positive attitude, leadership, adaptability, and reliability.
● Access to a cell phone.
● Willingness to work nights and weekends (as necessary).
● Willingness to travel to key geographic locations (as necessary).
Essential Functions:

● Ability to travel as needed and tolerate various indoor & outdoor climate conditions.
● Ability to read, write and cross functionally communicate.
● Mathematical competence.
● Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
● Ability to operate a computer and office equipment.
