Elliott Mendes serves as the director of principal giving at American Promise. He brings over two decades of experience in the political, policy and fundraising space to American Promise.

Prior to joining American Promise, Elliott was the national development director for Democratic Majority for Israel, where he was part of the senior leadership of the organization helping to determine policy and strategy while leading efforts to scale resources for the organization as well as their sister organization, DMFI PAC. Elliott spent 15 years at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, ultimately as the deputy regional director in the Northeast – AIPAC’s largest regional operation – and then regional director for the Southeast.

Elliott has served as a strategic and fundraising consultant to several non-profits and has appeared on television as a commentator and analyst on American and Israeli politics, the broader Middle East and the U.S.-Israel relationship.
