I join the overwhelming majority of Americans to demand an amendment to the United States Constitution to end the domination of big money in politics and give voice to all Americans.

I will stand with all Americans, without regard to party or other differences, and urge all candidates and elected officials to do the same, in order to pass and ratify such a constitutional amendment as soon as possible.

AP Connect: Claiming Power through Citizen Leadership

August 30, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Friends: this is a time of big challenges in America. How do we, as citizens, make an impact? Are the problems just too big, and the solutions just too unattainable?

We think not. In fact, when it comes to our plan to pass and ratify the For Our Freedom amendment, We The People hold all the power we need, and it’s our goal to harness it.

As a preview of the upcoming National Citizen Leadership Conference, this month’s AP Connect will be a lightning round, featuring updates from all aspects of the conference, to give you a chance to hear from us for a few minutes, with a chance to ask questions.

We guarantee this is one Zoom call that will leave you more energized than when you joined, ready to meet all of us in Washington DC on September 28-29 at the conference.

Lightning Round Speakers and Presenters:

  • Mike Monetta, VP of Advocacy and Training – will tell you why being involved in citizen leadership is rewarding, exciting, and ambitious and will take questions about the nuts and bolts of meeting members of conference during Lobby Day
  • Dr. Jessica Hare, VP of Outreach – will explain the power of political social work and why it’s a crucial step to a better America
  • John McCrea, Business Network Manager – will make the case for why American Promise is good for business, and why the endless spiral of money in politics reduces competition and competence in the business world
  • Marie HenselderKimmel MD, American Promise New Jersey leader – will start to make the case why healthcare and money in politics is unhealthy, making it more difficult to get control over high prescription drug costs and rampant opioid abuse
  • Jere Halligan, Digital Director and Zye Allen, Digital Content Manager – will explain what you’ll learn in the workshop on cross-partisan social media and messaging
  • Finally, Jeff Clements, President of American Promise – will share the lineup of speakers and panel discussions.

What to expect:

  • Insights from both volunteers and members of Congress about meaningful and rewarding ways to claim your power as a citizen.
  • You’ll have a chance to ask questions and get specific about the conference, and influence our final program choices based on your questions
  • An overview of the opportunities to build support for a Constitutional amendment in your community and for our country
  • Real-life examples of local citizen action to build support for our cause through outreach and conversations.

How to get involved:

  • RSVP for the virtual event on Zoom.
  • Grab a cup of coffee, herbal tea or a lemonade – staying hydrated is important!
  • Invite your friends to join this important conversation.
  • Register for National Citizen Leadership Conference and join us … all of us … to make a better America
