On September 29th, as part of our annual National Citizen Leadership Conference in Washington DC, American Promise volunteers and staff from all over the country, descended upon Capitol Hill. It was the first time we’ve been able to get together or meet with legislative offices in person for several years so there was a lot of excitement in the air.  We had a successful day of positive interactions, building relationships with congressional representatives and their staffers.

We had over 50 in-person meetings with members of Congress and/or their staff, and an additional 15+ virtual meetings the following week for some offices that aren’t currently having in-person meetings.
