Tired of big donors and special interests calling the shots?

Join us to help get money out of politics!

Midterms are over but our civic duty is not. Maine just had one of the most expensive midterms elections in history. This is the new normal in the post Citizens United world, but with your help we can end the domination of big money in our elections with a nationwide movement for political equality.

Jeff Clements, co-founder and President of American Promise and Wambui Gatheru, American Promise Outreach Manager join members of the Portland, ME American Promise Association, who are already engaged civically around the 28th Amendment.

You’ll meet an active group of citizen leaders preparing to meet with legislators, engage with the media, and present to the public, all about the problem of money in politics and, more importantly, about the solution of a 28th Amendment to reverse a series of Supreme Court decisioned which likened money to speech.

The fight to win a working democracy will not be an easy one, but we are well on our way to make sure our government knows that people, not money, govern the United States!
