Why Attend This Conference?
This is a huge election year in which powerful interests will be spending billions to try to ensure that their priorities & goals will influence the political agenda. National Citizen Leadership Conference is a David v. Goliath opportunity. This is your chance to counteract all of those dollars with your individual voice as an American!
- Americans are bombarded by messages about how hopelessly divided we are. NCLC offers hope in an age of polarization.
- You will connect in person with other Americans from all over the country who care about fixing the problem of money in politics. We come from different backgrounds and have different policy preferences, but we share a fundamental belief in the government by the people.
- You will have fun and bring joy to an otherwise daunting and overwhelming election year.
- You will learn about what personally motivates your fellow Americans to be involved in this movement, and be inspired by the sense of possibility and momentum.
- You will hear from experts about why this amendment is so important and so crucial for rebuilding civic trust, and you’ll receive specialized training to help take your personal advocacy to the next level.
- You will celebrate cross-partisan cooperation by participating in an event that counters the dominant narrative that Americans are hopelessly divided.
- You will be able to use your voice and express yourself to your members of Congress. Very few Americans ever get to do this!
- You will see firsthand that your efforts are making a difference.
Citizen Lobby Day
On the second day of the conference, our group will take to Capitol Hill for a Lobby Day. This is a chance for you and your fellow citizens to meet together with congressional staff to present and discuss the For Our Freedom constitutional amendment — the most effective thing we as citizens can do to ensure our voices are heard.
Past participants have said this was their favorite part of the conference, and left their meetings feeling empowered and uplifted.
We will offer opportunities for training and hands-on support during the event. These practical trainings are led by a seasoned professional, so you will be prepared and confident when you go into your meeting.
