As long as companies and investors have disproportionate influence over policy makers through vast lobbying and political spend budgets, we will lack a representative, functioning democracy. Individual voters will be overshadowed by the private sector, and there will be no impartial mechanism to hold the private sector accountable. We must remove big money from politics now. It is a gating issue for every other policy one could want to make.
