Our new States Manger Alan LaPolice, a Kansas farmer, educator, and veteran, will help us advance the 28th Amendment at the local and state level across the nation.

Alan is an independent-minded individual who has run for political office numerous times with different partisan affiliations. He joined American Promise because our focus on solving the problem of money in politics will allow Americans to make progress on other issues that need reform, he says in this video.

If we can take out the corrosive power of money in our political system, everything else becomes possible, Alan says. “All of the things that we want to reform, they can only be addressed once you address this fundamental issue of money in politics,” he says. “And because of the Supreme Court, the only way to address that is a Constitutional amendment—that being the 28th Amendment.”

Alan sees infinite possibilities for America after a 28th Amendment is ratified. Alan’s vision is to move toward a country that provides liberty, equality and justice for all, he says, and a Constitution that protects American people and their voices, rather than corporations and the power of money. “I believe the greatest American tragedy is the great disparity between the promise of our Constitution and the promise of the Declaration of Independence and the reality that we live today,” Alan says.

As the States Manger for American Promise, Alan encourages everyone to get involved in an American Promise chapter and to help get their state ready to ratify a 28th Amendment. “Keep hope that we can reform our government to be responsive to We The People,” Alan says.
