BREAKING – New Report Shows Wide Cross-Partisan Support for the 28th Amendment

What does former U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe, a Republican from Maine have in common with former State Senator and current President of Our Revolution Nina Turner, a progressive from Ohio? They both support a 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution so people, not money, govern America.

Dark money attack ads paint the picture of a country divided, but when it comes to getting money out of politics, Americans stand together. And based on findings from the Government of Citizens, Not Money report released today by American Promise, Take Back Our Republic, and Fix It America, there is significant cross-partisan support for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow Congress to set reasonable limits on campaign spending and secure political equality for all Americans.

FULL REPORT!

Check out April’s National Citizen Leader Call, where we talk in-depth with the report’s authors and teach a laser talk on how to speak powerfully about its findings!

Using data from voting records for state and federal officials, poll results, public statements, and ballot initiatives, the report identifies over 200 Republican lawmakers including former U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe (R–ME) and former U.S. Senator Alan Simpson (R–WY) who support the 28th Amendment.

The report also demonstrates that nearly 80 percent of Americans are united in support for the 28th Amendment.

This isn’t just another report, this is an urgent call to action for all Americans to help build support for the 28th Amendment in Congress and in state legislatures across the country.

But it’s up to you to read it and share it.

After you read the report, send it to your local, state and federal representatives and ask to set up a meeting to discuss what they are doing to advance the 28th amendment so people, not money, govern America.

Ask them to join over 150 federal candidates to sign the pledge to use their office to support the 28th Amendment.

We can fix our ailing American republic. But it will take all of us, Democrats, Republicans, and independents, working together.

It begins with you and me.
